For Campuses
A Shared Data Layer
for Education
CollegenZ sits underneath the software that institutions already use and provides infrastructure for handling credentials, funding, engagement records, academic documents, and campus economies on-chain. The range of what the chain supports continues to grow as new teams build on it.
Credentials
Credentials that outlast the systems that issued them
On-chain credential
Bachelor of Science - Computer Science
State University · Class of 2025
When a degree, certificate, or skill badge is issued on CollegenZ, the credential record is written to the chain and held by the student. Any party who needs to verify the credential can do so by querying the chain directly - without contacting the issuing institution, without depending on a specific platform, and without worrying about whether the link to the certificate is still active.
For students this means the credentials they earn are theirs in a practical sense. They carry their records forward across institutions, into the job market, and across borders. For institutions it means the credentials they issue remain verifiable indefinitely without maintaining a verification service.
Verifiable
Query the chain directly - no intermediary needed
Portable
Carries across institutions, borders, and platforms
Student-held
The credential belongs to the student, permanently
Academic Documents
Every document type, verifiable on-chain
Instead of separate systems for each document type, CollegenZ provides a single verifiable layer for every academic record an institution issues.
Transcripts
A student's complete academic record issued as an on-chain document that any institution or employer can verify. Transfer students carry a single verifiable transcript across institutions without requesting new copies at each transition.
Marksheets
Semester-level grade records issued on-chain alongside or instead of printed marksheets. Verifiable by third parties without contacting the examination office.
Enrollment Verifications
Proof that a student is currently enrolled or was enrolled during a specific period. Useful for scholarship applications, visa processes, and employer background checks. Queryable from the chain without the institution generating a letter each time.
Recommendation References
A faculty member's recommendation recorded as a signed on-chain attestation linked to the student's identity. The recommendation travels with the student and is verifiable as having come from the faculty member's institutional identity.
Completion Certificates
Bootcamps, workshops, short courses, and training programs issue completion records that persist on-chain. The issuing program can cease to operate and the certificate remains verifiable.
Funding
Money that moves with rules attached
Funding flows on CollegenZ are handled by contracts that hold funds and release them when defined conditions are satisfied. Every movement is recorded on the chain and visible to anyone who should see it.
Scholarships & Grants
Funds deposited with conditions: attendance thresholds, GPA requirements, enrollment status, reviewer sign-offs. Disbursement is automatic when the contract determines conditions are met. Donors see the complete trail from deposit to student.
Micro-Grant Pools
Recurring pools funded by campuses, alumni associations, or sponsors. Students submit proposals, reviewers approve on-chain, and funds release when the approval threshold is met. Pools can be one-time or refill on a defined cycle.
Tuition Installments
Payment plans with terms, schedules, grace periods, and escalation logic encoded in a contract. The student and the institution both read the same contract state removing ambiguity about what has been paid or what is due.
Donor Traceability
Every unit of funding that enters a contract is traceable from deposit to final disbursement. A donor, auditor, or institution can query the contract and see the full history of how funds were allocated.
Engagement
Portable records of campus participation
Attendance records, event participation, activity milestones, mentoring sessions, and quest completions can all be logged on CollegenZ as on-chain engagement events. A student's engagement history becomes a portable record that is not locked inside any single application.
Reward programs and incentive structures can be connected to engagement data through contract logic - a token payout for consecutive attendance, or grant eligibility based on event participations over a semester. The contract enforces these rules automatically as new events are recorded.
Web3 Innovation
An EVM-compatible chain, open for experimentation
CollegenZ is an EVM-compatible Layer 2 chain that supports the full range of decentralized applications and tooling that the Ethereum ecosystem has developed. For institutions and student communities interested in Web3 as a subject of study, experimentation, or innovation, CollegenZ provides a live chain environment tuned for education workloads.
Student Developers
Build and deploy real smart contracts on a real chain with real users. Same tools and languages the broader Ethereum ecosystem uses.
Faculty Courses
Point students at a live network where transaction costs are low enough that experimentation is practical. Ideal for distributed systems, cryptography, and dApp design.
Campus Communities
Experiment with on-chain governance models, decentralized organizations, token-based voting systems, and collaborative funding mechanisms.
Open to Anything
The chain does not restrict what can be built. Education rails are native infrastructure, but any EVM contract can be deployed. The network is open to projects beyond education.
More Possibilities
Quick glimpses of what else CollegenZ enables
Alumni Networks
Alumni affiliation as a verifiable on-chain credential. Membership, contribution to campus funds, and mentoring history become portable records. Networks can verify that a participant actually attended the institution.
International Students
Credentials issued on CollegenZ are verifiable from anywhere in the world. A student who earned a degree in one country and is applying in another does not need a credential evaluation service or wait for institutional verification.
Attendance Systems
Attendance logged on-chain is readable by any other system connected to CollegenZ. A scholarship contract can check attendance without the financial aid office requesting data from student affairs.
Learning Records
Course completions, module progress, and learning pathway achievements recorded on-chain. A student who takes courses across multiple platforms accumulates a single unified learning record.
Campus Activities
Club memberships, volunteer hours, competition results, cultural event participation, sports achievements. Any campus activity worth recording can be logged on-chain as a portable record the student holds.
Transcripts
A student's full academic record as a single on-chain document that follows them across institutions and into employment. Transfer students carry a verifiable transcript without requesting copies from each previous institution.
